Books
Stories about how we decide.
Fiction and nonfiction about people, systems and the choices that shape our lives.
This is where I publish longer-form work exploring human judgement, technology, work, health and the systems we build around them.
Some ideas need an argument. Others need a story.

Das Protokoll
Zurich Thriller

A system makes fewer mistakes than the people it replaces. Then Anna Weber dies.
Simon Keller helped bring PROTOKOLL into operation — a system designed to determine which complex cases require human attention.
The numbers are good.
The warning is weak.
The decision is defensible.
Months later, a woman is dead.
When Simon begins to investigate what happened, he discovers something more disturbing than a flawed algorithm:
Someone has started changing the past.
Das Protokoll is a contemporary Zurich thriller about artificial intelligence, institutional responsibility and human judgement.
Fiction. Nonfiction. The same questions from different angles.
My nonfiction examines systems directly: how we work, learn, perform, recover and make decisions.
Fiction allows me to explore the same territory differently.
Not by explaining what people should do, but by putting characters in situations where there is no obviously correct decision — only uncertainty, trade-offs and consequences.
Das Protokoll is the first fiction project in this part of my work.
